Bruce Willis is here!

When I came to work on Monday, one whole block across from the embassy was blocked off and filled with strange vehicles and loads of security guards. Turns out Bruce Willis is here in Budapest filming A Good Day to Die Hard, or Die Hard 5 if you prefer. Apparently it's cheaper or easier to get permission to film here, even though the action is taking place in Russia.
Hey all you casting agents or directors out there -- why don't you use me for some minor role in this? I'd do it for free and I speak English and Russian. I'm in good physical condition and I'm not bad looking. I'd love to have Bruce blow my brains out all over some window...or he can throw me out of one. I don't care. I just want to be in the movie!

My wife would be perfect for the movie, too. She's a native Russian speaker who also speaks great English, and she's drop-dead gorgeous.

  2. Thanks, Wendy, but I know it's unrealistic to do anything but dream. In some countries such films have advertised at embassies for extras, but they never seem to do here. They films some big movies here recently, such as World War Z, and we hear nothing.

  3. Just keep hanging around the set - maybe you'll get lucky!
You know someday Bruce will be too old to do these, but hopefully not anytime too soon.

  4. Alex, a friend and I did a walk-by, but there was no sign of anyone of significance, and the security guards eyed us suspiciously. I don't know why they didn't advertise for extras at the embassy. We are right next to where they are shooting and we speak native English.

  5. I thought your post title was a tease, but you meant it! What fun. I'd try and get in there as an extra too. Start yelling at Bruce in Russian. That will get his attention.

  6. actually they probably would like billingual extras on set. keep you eyes peeled for solicitations. Unfortunately wherever you are hosting your wife's pic from is blocked from my work, so I can't compliment her on her beauty.

  7. I've been Googling, but no luck. I imagine they feel they've already got all their extras. But the movie would be a much bigger hit with my wife in it!

  9. Oh I hope they pick you up for the movie Ted! I'd love to see you what you really look like and then say, "Hey, I kinda sorta know this famous guy."

  10. You're so funny, Michael! Even if I got that lucky, I'd just be some extra most likely and my scene might not even make the movie. A buddy of mine has been paid twice to be an extra in movies (Hunt for Red October and Mirrors) and his scenes were cut both times. As for my picture, I use it in my avatar on Authonomy. If you click either one of my books, it will take you there!

  12. Being an extra is fun. I was on Silk STalkings once (filmed at a women's prison, lol). I actually got in 4 or 5 scenes! I hope you gaet in! I'm stopping by on Alex's recommendation. New follower!
